Food created with Love

Our history

Angelina’s was co-founded by Fay Zoffoli-Ham and her childhood friend, Angie in 1983 in Portsmouth, NH. They started the business by offering items from their own Italian-American families - fresh pasta, sauces, ravioli, and lasagna. Angelina’s sold out on their very first day in business, and had to close for a few days to re-stock! Within a short time , Angelina’s became a local landmark, with fresh, handmade calzones becoming their iconic item. At one point there were 4 generations of the Zoffoli clan working at Angelina’s: Fay, her mom Josephine, son Michael and granddaughters Jami and Jessi. Business was thriving for them, and became more than just a shop to buy Italian food. It was a warm meal, an engaging conversation, and a solve for busy people on the run. And Angelina’s was truly family to its many loyal customers. In the early 90’s Fay’s partner Angie retired . Fay continued to grow the business, along with her son, Michael. They sold Angelina’s in 1997 , and the business continued under that name until 2005, when it closed “for good.”

Fast forward to 2021. Fay’s daughter, Julie, went “into the kitchen” - a place that has always given her joy and comfort - and decided to bring back Angelina’s with a nod to the past (recipes from the original Angelina’s) and a vision for the future, with artisanal foods she learned to create from years of living and traveling through Italy.
